{"id":88,"date":"2011-01-31T15:40:58","date_gmt":"2011-01-31T20:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.heliotropicsystems.com\/blog\/?p=88"},"modified":"2014-09-08T15:35:02","modified_gmt":"2014-09-08T19:35:02","slug":"not-a-slogan-i-would-use-with-my-clients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.heliotropicsystems.com\/blog\/index.php\/not-a-slogan-i-would-use-with-my-clients\/","title":{"rendered":"Not A Slogan I Would Use With My Clients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently ran across an old postcard from a local area computer repair shop.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to quote it because you might think I made it up.\u00a0 So here\u2019s a picture:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-87\" title=\"Free Computer Service*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.heliotropicsystems.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/scan0002.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"445\" height=\"310\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.heliotropicsystems.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/scan0002.jpg 445w, https:\/\/www.heliotropicsystems.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/scan0002-300x208.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 445px) 100vw, 445px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, how in the world can the company be comfortable making that claim?\u00a0 And how would you, as a client, feel about taking advantage of it?<\/p>\n<p>A competent computer technician will tell you at the outset whether he can fix your computer.\u00a0 I mean, come on!\u00a0 How many things can go wrong?<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a list of the most common hardware problems:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your monitor no longer displays anything<\/li>\n<li>Your printer no longer prints anything you send to it<\/li>\n<li>Your computer beeps when you turn it on and nothing happens<\/li>\n<li>Your computer doesn\u2019t turn on at all<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here\u2019s a list of the most common software problems:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your computer is infected with malware<\/li>\n<li>Your computer displays a blue screen with white text when you turn it on<\/li>\n<li>Your computer freezes in the middle of a game<\/li>\n<li>Your computer displays an \u201cEnd Program\u201d message when you shut down<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Obviously, these are very short lists.\u00a0 You may encounter other errors from the software and hardware that you are running, but there are very few instances where something absolutely cannot be fixed.\u00a0 To make the claim this company did is disingenuous;
